The last month has been a bit crazy and life changing ... and that statement is probably a large over exageration! So here are the highlights of the past few weeks ...
End of July Lau and I tied the knot to become hustband and wife! Woo! It was a great day. We couldn't have asked for better weather and it really shows in the photos of the day.
clicky for photos
The following few weeks were spent on honeymoon in the south of Egypt on the coast of the Red sea. It was great. 40 - 42 degrees c every day!! It took a couple of days to get use to the heat, but after that is was great! We also went on a day trip to Chiro. This was a long, strange day which involved going to see the pyramids, sphinx, musium, perfume factory and a paparus factory.
The pyramids are a bit odd, the whole experience is strange and not quite as awe inspiring as I thought it would be. We had a tour guide and bus to the two of us so we could choose how long we spent at each thing. We started off going to the panoramic view place to take some photos and it would have been great if it wasn't for the locals hastling u to sell stuff, to take photos of you and charge you for you camera etc. it really started to get me down.
We then went down to the largest pyramid and walked round it, we took some photos and it was good. Lau had to stop me from getting annoyed at the stupid locals who piss off tourists. Seriously people, if they banned them more people would want to go!!!
Anyway, the rest of the day was fun. The perfume factory was good, although ended up walking out smelling like one of the female counters in Boots. They kept wiping different oils and mixes on the skin to test. The Museium after was good though. We got to see Tutankarmoons (spl?!) head dress (the famous one) and his coffins etc. but after the tour guide left and we had seen some other stuff on our own, one tomb started looking like another and each statue starting looking familier.
Over the time I was away I drank way too much beer, so I was on holiday and was all inclusive so decided I wouldn't count it towards my beer tally, this also meant that running I did in the first week didn't count either (which summed up to about just under 10km).
But anyway more to come with that in the next post.
As for married life, its pretty awesome. Its great coming home to Lau and chatting and living with her and stuff. Its brilliant! :-)
